API issues are fast to diagnose when the request is reproducible. Include:
- Endpoint and method: base URL, path and HTTP method, with keys redacted.
- Request shape: model ID, message array, streaming flag, and any tool definitions.
- Response: status code and the full JSON error body.
- SDK and version: official SDK or raw HTTP, plus language version.
- Timing: whether the failure is immediate, after a timeout, or intermittent.
Never paste a live API key. For intermittent 429 or 5xx responses, log the request ID and retry with exponential backoff and jitter. A minimal reproduction beats a full application excerpt. Start with Getting Started with the OpenAI-Compatible API and the TOKEN plans.
